What LastItem does, what it deliberately does not do, and how your information is handled.
Does LastItem work without an internet connection?
Yes. Creating and organizing kits, running manual checks, and viewing history work offline. Buying or restoring LastItem Pro requires a connection to Apple’s StoreKit services.
Do I need a LastItem account?
No. LastItem has no account, sign-in, backend, developer cloud sync, or live collaboration service. You can deliberately hand off a reusable kit as a file.
How do I share a kit?
Open the kit, choose More, then Share kit. LastItem creates a versioned JSON file for Apple’s share sheet. The recipient opens Kits → ••• → Import shared kit and chooses the file. This creates an independent local copy; later edits do not sync. Photos, archived items, identifiers, and check history are excluded.
Can LastItem detect whether my gear is physically present?
No. LastItem records your manual input. It cannot sense, locate, or prove possession of an item and cannot guarantee loss prevention.
What is included for free?
Free users can maintain two active kits with up to 25 active items in each, run Departure, Return, and Custom checks, use local templates, receive missing-item warnings, and view history.
Is LastItem Pro a subscription?
No. Pro is a one-time, non-consumable purchase through Apple. It is $4.99 in the U.S. App Store. Apple shows the localized price for your storefront before purchase. View LastItem on the App Store.
How do check photos work?
With Pro, you can take a photo or choose multiple images from the system photo picker. Each check can keep up to 10 photos in the order you add them. LastItem removes image metadata and stores the processed copies only in the app’s protected local files.
What does the JSON export contain?
The user-initiated Pro export includes versioned checklist and session-snapshot data, which may contain kit names, item details, quantities, notes, dates, and check history. Item and check photos are never included in JSON exports or shared kits.
Why is an incomplete Departure under Recent Departures?
A finished Departure with required items missing can be intentional and valid. Every completed Departure is eligible for Recent Departures, which is ordered by completion time. A zero-checked row has a disabled Nothing to return action; otherwise its Return contains only the quantities that actually went out.
What happens if I edit or delete a kit?
Completed check sessions retain their own snapshots. Editing or deleting a source kit does not rewrite its history.
Are widgets, NFC, Apple Watch, or Live Activities included?
No. Those features are not part of the current scope and should not be expected from this website or the App Store build.
